Xiao Jun 蕭軍 (also known as 劉軍Liu Jun, Tian Jun田軍, Liu Honglin劉鴻霖) (1907-1988), was born in either Yi 義 or錦county, Liaoning 遼寧Province. He was a trainee at the military police coach of the Northeast Army Lecture Martial Arts Hall (東北陸軍講武堂). His most famous work is 《八月的鄉村》(Village in August)(1934); it was translated by Edgar Snow into English in 1942. Xiao Jun was married to Xiao Hong. After 1949, Xiao Jun was persecuted as a Rightist – his career ended in 1957. He was imprisoned during the Cultural Revolution.
